Sarah Rawlings, Head of Policy for Breakthrough Breast Cancer commented,
"Rapid referral to a specialist is a key priority for patients. We have been campaigning since 2003 to ensure that all women referred by their GP to a breast specialist wait no longer than two weeks for an appointment. Recent figures show the majority of PCTs are successfully meeting this standard and we would very strongly recommend that measures are put in place to ensure this remains."
