Health Minister Supports Specialist Nurses

Ann Keen says:

"Specialist nursing is vital and must be protected - it is what patients tell me they want. We are committed to individual and personalised care.

"The Prime Minister's Commission on the future of nursing and midwifery has unreservedly stated the importance of specialist nursing, from clinical care to emotional support, backed by evidence emerging that it makes economic sense.

"I would strongly encourage commissioners to protect and expand the specialist nurse workforce."
