Seas of Yellow (well almost) & Pink!!
We shall overcome.
Although the Thriplow Daffodil Weekend made the national press for negative reasons this year, it did not seem to deter the visitors. Saturday's weather was dreary and damp, but people still arrived by the coach load to the village. Sunday's weather was fairer and saw just as many visitors, probably more. A handful of daffodils had managed to open. Our stall showed off home made jams and chutneys made by group members, a kids lucky dip, items for sale and, of course, our ever popular Tombola; items for which were very generously donated by groups members and group supporters. In fact on Sunday it was so popular that Val Whyborn's cupboards were emptied to fill the stall until the event run dry and closed at 2pm having sold out of just about everything. We would request that everyone start collecting and putting to one side anything that we could use at next years tombola, including toiletries, tins and bottles.
New friendships were made with the Pink Bunnies From Hell, pictured below, an excellent morris dancing troop dressed in pink.
The group will stay in contact with them to see if there is a chance of a reunion at some point over the year. You see PINK is very in !!
